Seraph documentation
Seraph filters incoming and outgoing email for hosting servers. Your existing server continues to host the mailboxes; Seraph checks messages before delivery and provides filtering controls through DirectAdmin. The service is operated by Servada in the Netherlands.
What it does
- Incoming email. Sender reputation, authentication, malware checks and a locally hosted AI model help identify unwanted messages. Accepted mail reaches your server; spam goes to Junk by default, or to quarantine if enabled. Malware and known scams are rejected.
- Outgoing email. The relay checks messages before sending them. Sending limits and review of suspicious messages help contain compromised accounts and scripts.
- DirectAdmin integration. Connect a server once, then manage domains, DNS records and mailbox settings through the Mail Filter plugin.
- Delivery failures. If your server is unavailable, accepted mail is queued for up to 48 hours. The delivery guide explains retries and outages.
- Data handling. See what Seraph keeps for message storage, learning data, logs and retention periods.
Beta service. Start with a small group of domains before a wider rollout. Contact support@seraphmail.eu for support. The DirectAdmin guide also explains how to stop filtering and restore previous MX records where the plugin changed them.
